Significant Achievement in Chess
On August 17-18, 2024, Al-Ashraq National School’s chess team made remarkable progress by qualifying for the national level in the Eastern Province Individual Chess Championship. The tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools' Chess Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, was held at Trincomalee Sinhala Central College and showcased intense competition among schools in the region.
A Landmark Achievement in School Athletics
Al-Ashraq National School students showcased their exceptional talent at the 53rd Sir-John Tarbat Junior Athletic Championship-2024, organized by the Sri Lanka School Athletic Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and sponsored by "Ritzbury." The event, held at the Weber Stadium in Batticaloa on August 3, 2024, brought together competitors from the Eastern Province and Polonnaruwa District.
Our students excelled at the provincial level, winning a total of nine medals and earning the opportunity to compete at the national level. Alhamdulillah!
Significant Achievement in All-Fours
On June 26, 2024, Al-Ashraq National School’s Under-20 All-Fours team won the silver medal and qualified for the provincial level.
The zone-level All-Fours tournaments were held at the Kalmunai Chandankeni Ground. Our Under-20 boys’ team secured the silver medal, advancing to the provincial competition. Alhamdulillah!

On June 29, 2024, Al-Ashraq National School's Under-20 Girls Carrom team won the gold medal at the Kalmunai Zone Sports Meet.
