In line with the guidance of the Presidential Secretariat and under the CLEAN SRI LANKA initiative, the Environmental Club of Km/Km/Al-Ashraq M.M.V. (National School) successfully organized the awareness programme "A Memo to the Nature" on 05 June 2026 at the school premises in celebration of World Environment Day 2026.
The programme was designed to remind students that education extends beyond textbooks. In today's rapidly mechanized world, it is essential for young minds to cultivate values such as love, gratitude, responsibility, and respect for nature. Through this initiative, students were encouraged to become environmentally conscious individuals who actively contribute to protecting the planet.
🌿 Programme Highlights
✅ Awareness session on Climate Change and its Environmental Impacts
✅ Presentation of the Environmental Anthem and the World Environment Day Pledge
✅ Tree Planting Programme dedicated to future generations
✅ Shramadana Campaign to maintain a clean and healthy school environment
The event provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their connection with nature and appreciate the invaluable role that trees and natural resources play in our daily lives. It also inspired them to regard the trees that have long beautified and sheltered our school grounds as their lifelong "Green Companions."
This meaningful programme laid a strong foundation for nurturing environmentally responsible citizens who are committed to preserving and protecting the natural world for future generations.
The school extends its sincere appreciation to the Principal, Vice Principals, Sectional Heads, Class Teachers, members of the CLEAN SRI LANKA EXCO, and especially the teachers and student members of the Environmental Club for their dedication and wholehearted support in making this event a resounding success.
